More insights on the code...

Okay first I hope what I right really express what I'm thinking, feeling, BELIEVING right now...
I just read Darcy's husband's post about the DiVinci Code.
Really liked it.
I must agree and am glad he brought up the fact that DiVinci lived many many years after Jesus.
He was not there.
If DID choose to put Mary in his painting then why does that really matter?
He wasn't at the last supper.
He is an artist, he interprets life through his eyes, he is not a historian...
Of course, you could say no he wasn't there but he was part of the secret society that protected the secret from that time, blah blah blah.
Well, to that I say this book is fiction.
It is good exciting fiction.
It is better and more exciting than the movie.
Also I believe the movie will test your faith more than the book.
In the book/movie they say the church has conspired for many years that we would not know Jesus was married.
They (or Constantine)did this by picking the books of the bible.
"Crucial" books were left out written by Mary Magdalene and Jesus himself.
Hmmmm...that is very easy to believe IF you don't have faith.
If you are a believer and faithful then you must believe that God had a hand in picking the books of the bible.
This is what he has given us to guide our lives and learn about him.
Would he allow for mortal people to control what goes in and out of it?
No remember God works through us here on earth.
He is in control.
I'm sure everyone has heard this...he works in mysterious ways.
So, if you are already questioning your faith and just looking for something else to believe in then, yes, you can take this very well written fictional story and believe in it.
If you are already a christrian then remember what you have been taught.
We know Jesus was as human as he was devine.
This is stated in the bible.
He had to be human in order to die and be risen from the dead.
Maybe Jesus was married.
Historically, it would have been more unbelievable for him to have been single.
Mary Magdalene was important to him.
She is the one who discovered the tomb was open.
But if this was really important to our christiantity don't you think God would have included this in the bible?
He would not let us know through a fictional non-christian writer so many years later.
Hope I didn't offend anyone.
This has been on my mind since I read the book.
If you haven't read the book I would reccommend it.
It is good and if you want to discuss it don't do so with ignorance.
But remember if you read the book and want to use it to discuss religion don't be ignorant about the bible and christiantity either.

I agree - great fiction book. That's it. It didn't make me question my faith any more than 24 or the OC does because it is fiction. Great post.
